Die Leiden des jungen Mordechai Jefferson Carver beginnen in der St. Peter, Paul and Mary Schule. Zu Weihnachten erhalten alle Kinder natürlich eine Menge Geschenke - nur Mordechai, als einziger Jude in der Klasse, muss sich mit einem Kreisel begnügen und bekommt darüber hinaus den Spott der Anderen zu spüren. Doch er bleibt stark. Als Erwachsener wird er unter dem Namen The Hebrew Hammer zum Beschützer aller Unschuldigen, daneben arbeitet er als Privatdetektiv. Eines Tages wird er von der Jewish Justice League beauftragt, das Channukahfest zu retten, das von Damien, dem schrecklichen Sohn des Weihnachtsmannes, bedroht wird. In seinem Kampf gegen das Böse wird Mordechai von Esther, der schönen und verführerischen Tochter des Chefs der Jewish Justice League, und von Muhammad Ali Paula Abdul Rahem, dem Anführer der afroamerikanischen Kwanzaa Liberation Front, unterstützt.

What drives ordinary men to greatness? Why are heroes made, not born? What does it take to get a guy into a knee-length black leather coat and a low-riding baby blue Caddy with white fur interior? For Mordechai Jefferson Carver, it started when he was the only Jewish boy in school.
Every December, Mordechai looked on while his gentile peers got pricey presents under brightly-lit trees, while all Mordechai got was a dreidel and their disdain. But Carver stayed true to his heritage. Today, Mordechai Jefferson Carver is known throughout the world as The Hebrew Hammer, a stylish strongman, a protector of the innocent, a man's mensch in these troubled times. A hero on his hometown Brooklyn streets, the Hammer runs a quiet business as a private investigator when he's not protecting the traditions of his people from destructive outside forces. But still, his mother wishes he'd done more with his life. One day, he is enlisted by the Jewish Justice League when it discovers that Santa Claus' psychotic son Damien has plans to eradicate Hanukkah as part of a nefarious scheme to be the only holiday icon at winter time. The Hammer joins forces with Esther, the gorgeous and dangerous daughter of Chief Bloomenbergansteinthal, Head of Jewish Justice League, and his Afroamerican friend Muhammad Ali Paula Abdul Rahem, Head of the Kwanzaa Liberation Front, to topple the evil Santa and save Hanukkah for future generations.
