Max Zagury erfährt, dass seine geliebte Tochter Lisa bei Ausgrabungen in Marokko eine höchst ernsthafte Beziehung mit Jean-Christophe Dupreux unterhält. Das ist für Max eine Katastrophe, denn er hat für Lisa schon einen Gatten auserkoren ­ Sydney, Schönheitschirurg und Sohn seines verstorbenen Freundes. An Pessach kommt Lisa aus Marokko und hat für ihre Familie eine Überraschung: ihr Freund Jean-Christophe taucht auf und setzt sich gleich an den Platz, der in der Tradition für Elias reserviert ist. Aber auch Max will seine Tochter überraschen: er hat alles so arrangiert, dass Sydney, der eigentlich von Lisas bester Freundin umworben wird, ihr einen Heiratsantrag machen soll. Nach dem Desaster verschwindet Lisa spurlos; Max Zagury macht sich auf die Suche nach seiner Tochter und trifft bald auf die streng katholischen Eltern von Jean-Christophe.

Max Zagury gets to know that his daughter Lisa has fallen in love with Jean-Christophe Dupreux during excavations in Morocco. That means a catastrophe for Max because he himself has chosen a bridegroom for Lisa ­ his best friend’s son Sydney. On Passover Lisa visits her family in Paris and brought a surprise with her: her boyfriend Jean-Christophe shows up and takes a seat at Eliah’s place. But also Max prepared a surprise for his daughter: he told Sydney, who is wood by Lisa’s best friend, to propose marriage to Lisa. After this éclat, Lisa disappears; Max Zagury looks for his daughter and finally meets Jean-Christophe’s parents, who are strong Catholics.
