seiner Heimat. Asyl findet er in Israel, wo er eine Familie gründet. Gemeinsam
mit ihrem Vater begibt sich Vaan auf eine Reise nach Vietnam, um dort ein
mögliches neues Leben aufzubauen. Diese wird zu einer Parabel über den
Verlust von Identität und das Schicksal von Flüchtlingen. Der Film ist „weder

In her blog, Vaan Nguyen unfolds the absurdities of her life as an Israeliborn
Vietnamese. Her father was one of the many boat-people who fled
from Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975 and one of those who found
asylum in Israel. Now, they return to Vietnam, hoping they can reclaim their
confiscated lands. Their journey becomes a parable on loss of identity and
the fate of refugees. “Duki Dror, one of the most fertile young directors in
Israel today, consistently deals with the theme of displacement in its different
configurations. Thus revealing the ever changing faces of today's Israel. It
