For the live broadcast of the UniverSong finals (a reference to the Eurovision Song Contest), the neighbors of gay kindergarten teacher Ofer gather in front of the TV at his apartment in Tel Aviv: baker Anat , lesbian singer Efrat , political assistant Dana , manager Yael and blogger Keren.
When Anat sadly tells the others that her husband has left her, her friends spontaneously start singing a song they made up for her and film the whole thing with their cell phones. On a whim, Ofer sends the recording as an application for the next UniverSong contest. And indeed: they are chosen as official candidates.
